Classes 2018

NB:As usual we will email a form for you to pick your choices at the end of June! Morning - 3 hour workshops. You will be able to choose one of these.

1. Abstract Free Form Cutting – Mandy Munroe

Our most popular workshop from 2017 is back by popular demand! Cutting without a ruler to create bold, modern, abstract waves and shapes. Break out of the block! 2. Tiny Improv Streetscape – Jo Avery

Try your hand at some tiny piecing and make a row of mini houses and buildings in this absorbing workshop. We will be freeing up our cutting and piecing to produce unique little pieces of art that can be framed or used on pouches or for tiny quilts. And the best thing about experimenting with improv on such a tiny scale is that you don’t have to worry about wasting fabric! This is a machine sewing class for intermediate students (must be used to using a rotary cutter).

3. Modern Landscapes- Sarah Ashford

Learn how to make this stunning African mini quilt with Sarah Ashford. Using a combination of solid fabrics, improv piecing and appliqué, create the powerful image of a lone lion against the backdrop of a striking African sky. Once you’ve learnt the technique, you can take it further by designing and creating modern landscapes and seascapes of your own. (NB. I shall have two other samples to share with the group as well). A machine sewing class suitable for all levels.
