The bobbing quirk is a rare bird that lives in Mediterranean pine forests that are close to the shore. Named for their striking ‘headdress’, which they use in elaborate mating dances that involve repeated head bobbing. The male quirk assembles a cosy nest to impress their mate, complete with a mossy bed and decorated with bright flowers and shells. The females inspect repeated nests before choosing one their approve of and settling in.
